Recipe Hero Likes

Installation

It’s very easy to add Recipe Here to your site. You can install it in a couple of ways:

Uploading in WordPress Dashboard

  1. Navigate to the ‘Add New’ in the plugins dashboard
  2. Navigate to the ‘Upload’ area
  3. Select recipe-hero-likes.zip from your computer
  4. Click ‘Install Now’
  5. Activate the plugin in the Plugin dashboard

Using FTP

  1. Download recipe-hero-likes.zip
  2. Extract the recipe-hero-likes directory to your computer
  3. Upload the recipe-hero-likes directory to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  4. Activate the plugin in the Plugin dashboard

Settings

To get started with Recipe Hero Likes, head over to the new settings under Recipe Hero > Settings > Likes. You’re going to want to to configure the settings first.

Auto Insert Like Button: Checking this will automatically insert the like button / count for you.

Insert Location Page Type: Choose which page types you want to automatically insert the like button on. Either single, archive or both.

Insert Location Area: You can choose the area to automatically insert the like button.

Postfix (0 – None): The text to display after 0 likes. Default: Likes.

Postfix (1 – Single): The text to display after 1 like. Default: Like.

Postfix (2+ – Multiple): The text to display after 2+ likes. Default: Likes.

Heart Style / Icon: Choose the heart style / icon type to display.

Heart Color (non-active): Define a custom color for the hearts when the status is non-active / non-liked. Default: #eaeaea.

Heart Color (active): Define a custom color for the hearts when the status is active / liked. Default: #c90000.

Displaying Likes

You have a few different ways to display the likes / like button on a recipe. One way is to check the Auto insert like button setting mentioned above.

Another is to use PHP. The recipe_hero_likes_output() function is at your disposal, so the following would work:

The third option is to use the available shortcode. Simply use the following shortcode in a recipe:

Most Liked Recipes Widget

Additionally, there’s a new widget added with Recipe Hero Likes that allows you to show off your most liked recipes in a sidebar or widget area.

After you add it, feel free to configure the title, description and # of recipes displayed. You can optionally display the like counts too:

Updates & Licensing

We’ve kept updates and licensing very simple. After installing and activating Recipe Hero Likes, you’ll see a notification asking you to activate, which will bring you to the plugin’s details in your admin’s Plugins list.

Simply enter in your license key, found in either your email receipt or my account, and the email you purchased it with. It will then verify your license and from then on, updates will automatically appear for you!
